Crytek Announces New IP “Hunt: Horrors Of The Gilded Age”
After months of speculation, Crytek has announced their new IP less than a week before E3. Titled HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, the game is a third-persona action title with a heavy emphasis on Co-Op play.
Set in the late 1800s, Hunt depicts a world where so-called myths and folklore actually point to the terrifying truth about evil lurking just beyond the fringes of day-to-day life. Players act as hunters willing to take up arms and risk their necks by venturing into the deadliest of territories and facing the hideous creatures that have overrun them.
The short announcement trailer shows off the world and what are presumably the four main characters of the game, with them looking at a horde of zombies and saying “Hunt, that’s what we do.”
On the game’s official website, players can sign up for the chance to participate in the beta of the game. Crytek also provides some more details about what we can expect from the game there, saying:
“Steady your hand and brace yourself for pulse-pounding 4-player co-op action in Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age. Crytek’s third-person thriller turns you into both hunter and hunted as you unite with up to three other players and face an onslaught of bloodthirsty creatures together. As bullets dwindle and lamplight flickers, you’ll have to work strategically as a team to stay alive – especially when you track down jaw-dropping bosses with the brains and brawn to send you and your friends to an early grave. Hunt together or die alone, it’s up to you.”
