Forza Horizon 2 Announced

Microsoft has announced, via IGN, that a sequel to 2012’s Forza Horizon is in the works. The game is slated for a 2014 fall release and will be coming to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Developer Playground Games, the same team that made the original game, is leading development. Forza creator Turn 10 Studios will be in close collaboration with the team. Microsoft also stated that both studios will share “key personnel” and technology.

IGN editor Ryan McCaffrey also noted that Playground Games will be solely focused on the Xbox One version of the game, with another studio yet-to-be-named working on the last-gen version. The game takes place in Southern Europe which Playground Games claims will allow for “incredible diversity” and “amazing visuals,” and will feature “hundreds” of cars. There’ll also be a dynamic weather system and Forza 5’s “Drivatar” feature will carry over as well.

Another thing to note, according to the IGN article, is that music will play a central role in the game, with a musical event acting as the “central event” for all of the game’s activities.
