Watch Dogs Quickly Becomes Fastest-Selling Ubisoft Game

Following the game’s recent release, Ubisoft has announced today that Watch Dogs has become the fastest-selling game in the french company’s history, selling more copies in its first 24 hours than any other title from it.

“I once said that the buzz around Watch Dogs was driven by the incredible passion of our early fans,” said creative director Jonathan Morin on the UbiBlog. “Today we broke the record for the biggest first-day sales in Ubisoft history.”

Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off,” said Ubisoft’s co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot. “It’s great to see so many customers enjoy playing the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”

Though exact sales numbers weren’t revealed, since it’s only been a day since the game released, it looks well on its way to sell over 6 million copies, a number Guillemot revealed was the goal for the company.

The game is currently out now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. It’s still slated to come out on Nintendo’s Wii U later this year.
