Blizzard Might Reveal A New Game This Year

Both rumors and evidence point to Blizzard Entertainment revealing a new game sometime this year. Kotaku, with the help of internet sleuth Superannuation, has discovered a particular Blizzard employee’s Linkedln page which states that he’s “working on a top-secret project to be unveiled sometime in 2014.”

Though it might have something to do expansions to World of Warcraft or Diablo, there’s the interesting case of a project called Titan. As Superannuation points out, this “project” has been in development over at Blizzard since 2006. At first the game was an MMO, though Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime has since stated that it no longer sports a subscription model similar to Warcraft’s. Morhaime told IGN the current version of Titan “is pretty different from what [Blizzard] originally set out to do.” He adds, “we took a step back, we asked a lot of really hard questions about what we were doing and what should we be doing, and I think we’ve come up with something really great.”

There’s also the case of Blizzard filing a new trademark last month, and posting a job listing for lead producer. Blizzard’s latest release was the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls, which has gone on to sell over 2.7 million copies.

We’ll be sure to update with any new developments.
