The new game will be announced on the Unreal Engine’s Twitch page this Thursday at 2 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Each tweet put out by Rein and by other members of the Epic team has mention the use of the Unreal Engine 4, which will be Epic’s next game to use the engine. The next game could be a new Unreal Tournament  a remake of the original Unreal Tournament or of Unreal Tournament 2004.

Maybe we will get an updated version of the classic Unreal Tournament 2004?

Maybe we will get an updated version of the classic Unreal Tournament 2004?

The last Unreal game, Unreal Tournament 3, was released in 2007 to mixed but positive reviews. Thanks to a rocky launch, plus the addition of launching on consoles, most of the community goes back to playing Unreal Tournament and Unreal Tournament 2004.

For those who are interested in reliving in the nostalgia-filled train, the Unreal Tournament series is currently on Steam. Players can get all three games for under $50 with a healthy mod community still pouring out support for the games.
