Stealth Inc. 2 announced exclusively for the Wii U
Stealth Inc. is getting an exclusive sequel on the unlikeliest of platforms. A story by CVG confirms that Curve Studios, best known for developing Thomas Was Alone announced today that Stealth Inc. 2 is in development and will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U. This comes as a surprise given the Wii U’s dismal sales numbers, which since it’s Nov. 2012 launch has sold just under 6 million units as of February according to VGChartz.
In an interview with CVG, Managing Director at Curve Studios Jason Perkins explained the reasoning behind Stealth Inc. 2‘s exclusivity on the Wii U. “There isn’t much competition on Nintendo’s store, so we thought that commercially it’s a really good opportunity for us,” Perkins says.
“These people know how to make games,” Perkins says. “They known about the time that’s needed. There’s a really old school pressure on delivery. It’s all about the game, it’s all about the build.”
Stealth Inc. 2 is a sequel to Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark, a 2013 Playstation port of Stealth Bastard, a 2D stealth platformer that was originally released in 2011. The player controls a goggle-wearing clone who must make their way out of a testing facility while avoiding detection from enemies.
There are few details on Stealth Inc. 2. The game is scheduled to release sometime this year and will incorporate the Wii U gamepad for cooperative play.
