Sony Files ‘Bloodborne’ Trademark

As has been the norm thus far, Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed for a game-related trademark called “Bloodborne” last week with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

It was spotted by Siliconera, which revealed that Sony filed the trademark on April 24, but no other details are available at this time, as one would expect. The only thing that can be confirmed is that it is game-related, as the USPTO mentions it’s for “computer game software; downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices; [and] video game software.” Sony has stated that it has “nothing to announce at this time” regarding this trademark.

This is already the third game-related trademark that was filed by the company, with the others being “Entwined” and “Kill Strain.” It looks as though it isn’t a coincidence that these files were trademarked ahead of E3, which is roughly 40 days away. Sony did promise that a slew of games will be heading to PlayStation 4 this year, and the company only has small number of exclusives officially announced for its successful system, such as The Order: 1886.
