The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Temporarily Canceled For Xbox One

The upcoming movie tie-in game The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been indefinitely delayed for Xbox One.

“We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for [Amazing Spider-Man 2] on Xbox One,” Activision said to UK trade site MCV.

“When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD.”

The absence of the title on Xbox One was noticed first by GamersHonestTruth, which began investigating after hearing that EB Games in Australia was canceling Xbox One pre-orders for the game. Straight after, NeoGAF users noticed that Activision had completely removed all references to this particular version of the game on its official site.

While there’s still no apparent reason as to why this version has been indefinitely delayed, Activision did state the following:

“We are working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One. Currently, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC on April 29, 2014 as previously announced.”

The game is still presumably set to release on April 29 for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, 3DS, Wii U, and PC.

We’ll update with any new developments.

Pity for XBO players, but I’d be willing to be most of them still have their 360s anyhow. Nice that Wii U kept its version though. Still only cautiously optimistic about the game though, maybe Beenox will prove me wrong in a good way.
