Minecraft: PS3 Edition will be hitting shelves next month. Mojang announced via the Playstation Blog today that a physical copy of the smash-hit indie game will be released on May 16. The physical copy will include all of the features added to the game up until the March 26 Update (officially known as Title Update 14), which added new potions such as Invisibility, ender chests, emeralds and several mob tweaks for the consoles versions of Minecraft.
Minecraft: PS3 Edition has been digitally available since Dec. 17, 2013, however it’s been available digitally on the Xbox 360 since May 9, 2012 with the retail version being available since June 4, 2013. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been one the best selling games on the Xbox 360 of all time. Microsoft recently announced that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold over 12 million copies. In contrast, the PS3 version has sold 1.5 million copies in just under half a year.
