The Last of Us Remastered Edition Release Date Revealed

According to listings at several major retailer web sites, The Last of Us Remastered Edition is set arrive in stores across North America starting June 20.

Listings from Best Buy, Target, and GameFly, which Gamespot spotted, all indicate the same release date alongside the expected, and previously announced $60 price point for the game. Other than those three retailers, other sites still list December 31st as a placeholder for the game’s release date, but we expect them to update their information soon.

After months of speculation, Sony finally did officially announce the game’s existence a week ago. As expected, this remastered edition will feature more crisp graphics and a native 1080 resolution alongside 60fps. The game will also ship with all the multiplayer DLCs ever released and the story-based add-on content, entitled Left Behind, that came out in February with healthy critical reception.

The game has gone on win to over 250 awards since it released last June and is considered by many to be one of the best PlayStation games ever made. Currently, developer Naughty Dog is working on a new Uncharted game for the PlayStation 4 and has brushed aside rumors regarding a sequel to The Last of Us. But a feature film is in the works, and is currently being written by creative director Neil Druckmann.
