This time Martine, Patrick, Adam, and Coty talk about Sega’s ultimate mascot and his latest offering to the gaming world.  They also go in on where they think the series might have gone wrong, if it’s for gamers or for kids, and if the Sonic team will ever return to their glory days.

    To be fair, Sega/Sonic Team are companies just like any other. Their number one priority is turning a profit, not appeasing to older fans. If innovating the series to appeal to young children is what proves profitable, then of course that’s where they’re going to go. I can understand why you’re upset over where the series is going/has gone, but there’s really not a whole lot you can do about it.

    ConnorClarke  Yeah, that’s true – companies are concerned about profits, and I think we forget about that with video games at times – they operate just the same as any other company. As gamers, we’re selfish and concerned with our enjoyment, and I agree with you that we need to try and put ourselves in the company mindset at times.
