Last Life Kickstarter Looking For Life
Now for today’s Kickstarter news, the game in focus is the episodic adventure game called Last Life. Last Life is being developed by Sam Farmer of Rocket Science Amusement.
The game is currently being funded with 28 days to go to raise the goal of $75,000. Last Life is planning on releasing the story in three episodes with the current fundraising to back the first episode.
Last Life is a sci-fi noir adventure game that takes place on Mars. The game’s story is about a murdered detective that is 3D printed back into existence, so think of a style similar to Grim Fandango that takes place on Mars, which is in space. That case takes him on a hunt that reveals AI corruption, corporate espionage, and events that may have led to Earth’s destruction. Gameplay is inspired by point and click adventure games like Kentucky Route Zero and Telltale’s The Walking Dead series.
Last Life has gained a lot of support since it’s unveiling on Kickstarter, with Double Fine’s Tim Schafer being the loudest voice in the crowd. Last Life is one of the first games that will have the Double Fine Presents banner. To be specific, Last Life is not apart of Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight.
The game will be available on PC, Mac, and Linux by an estimated date of May 2015.
