New Info On Assassin’s Creed Comet Emerges
Following Ubisoft’s official announcement of this year’s current-gen only Assassin’s Creed title Unity, new information has emerged for the second title in the series, which is last-gen only, that is set to release alongside Unity. Entitled Comet, GameBlog reports that it will star a Templar and sailor named Shay, which Kotaku corroborated with sources. It will takes place in North America, feature naval combat and nautical exploration.
Kotaku has also claimed that Comet will take players to 1758 New York, where Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s Adewalé, Assassin’s Creed III’s Haytham Kenway, and other familiar Assassin’s Creed characters all reside in, and play various roles at. GameBlog also stated that Comet is a direct sequel to Black Flag.
Unlike Comet however, Unity will be set in Europe, a return for the series since Ezio’s adventures. The PS4, Xbox One, and PC-only title will be set in 18th century Paris during the French Revolution and will star an assassin named Arno.
If all of this turns out to be true, than this will mark the first time two major Assassin’s Creed games were to be released simultaneously. Just how much both games will play into each other, specifically in a narrative stand point, remains to be seen. But expect more information regarding both these titles in the following months.
