To Celebrate Official Launch, SMITE Announces $200,000 Tournament
SMITE, the newest MOBA from developer Hi-Rez Studios, is now out of its long-running beta and officially a released game. To celebrate, Hi-Rez is holding a huge tournament with a prize of $200,000 going to the winner. In a neat twist, half of the money is coming from consumer purchases of in-game merchandise, and will include the top four teams in Europe and the top four in North America that have qualified from the SMITE Weekly Tournament Series that began on January 4, 2014.
