Hotline Miami Announced For PS4
The hit neo-noir shooter, Hotline Miami, is coming to the PlayStation 4 with cross-buy capabilities. The news comes from Destructoid’s talk with Devolver Digital’s Nigel Lowrie during the Game Developer’s Conference.
For a little history, Hotline Miami was released in 2012 by developer Dennaton Games and published by Devolver Digital. The game was released on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3 and Vita. Hotline Miami was released for free as a PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection in October 2013.
The game will be available as a cross-buy on the PlayStation Network. Players who own Hotline Miami on their PlayStation 3 will be able to download the game to their Vita and PlayStation 4 for no extra charge. Lowrie explained it as simple as possible, “We’re just going to keep it cross-buy, because we feel that if the users bought it on a PlayStation platform, they have a right to own it on PlayStation 4.”
PlayStation Plus members will not have to worry about reactivating their copy of Hotline Miami. If players activated the game for their PlayStation 3, they are all set.
Dennaton Games will be releasing the sequel called Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC by fall of this year. The game was announced at E3 2013 and will be the last game in the Hotline Miami series.
