Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain May Release ‘Early’ 2015

According to a message from Konami, which was spotted by Reddit user Hitzkolpf, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will release sometime in “Early 2015.” Hitzkolpy noted that pre-ordering a copy of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, which comes out tomorrow, triggers the below message to appear, stating that the player will get bonus DLC for the game when it releases.

Metal_gear_solid_5_ground_zeroes-610x1082 (1)Series creator Hideo Kojima did explain that The Phantom Pain has a gargantuan amount of content, so much so that he believes the game might be too large for players to even complete. The game’s length played an integral role in separating Ground Zeroes from The Phantom Pain, as Kojima and his team never would have been able to finish The Phantom Pain in time for the  arrival of the two next-gen systems. It was also revealed that Ground Zeroes won’t feature a Platinum Trophy on PS3 or PS4. Kojima took to Twitter to explain exactly why that is.

“The reason GZ doesn’t have Platinum Trophy in PS4 is due to SONY’s regulation,” he said. “They won’t allow us to have them for non-full price game.”

The game will ship with 13 bronze trophies, one silver, and one gold.
