Minecraft Snapshot 14w10a Out Now, 10b Coming Soon With More Fixes

Nathan “Dinnerbone” Adams from Mojang has been busy on Twitter this morning, announcing the most recent snapshot update for the PC version of Minecraft, 14w10a. The update brings with it more than 30 bug fixes and some new features for mapmakers.

Some issues arose with the update however, and a ‘b’ release will be launched soon to address new bugs that snuck in with the patch.

Additions include new stats like time since death, crouched movement and sprint movement measurement, as well as allowing creative mode players to damage invulnerable entities. Full patch notes can be found on the Mojang blog post.

And last, but certainly not least, the snapshot brings with it the UUID changes necessary to support Minecraft name changes. Minecraft players that chose their names years ago will finally have the opportunity to change their username, but not until the official release of Minecraft 1.8.

Across all platforms, the game has sold more than 15 million copies since its initial offering in pre-alpha.
