Doom 4 Exists

It has finally been made certain that Doom 4 does exist. For now, the game is simply titled Doom and apparently there’s a beta coming up for it.

Both publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer MachineGames have released a new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Towards the end of the trailer a rather interesting pre-order incentive was revealed. For players that reserve a copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, they will gain access to the Doom beta. No details concerning when the beta will launch and what platforms Doom will be coming out for were shared. But you do need to be over the age of 18 to participate in it. More information regarding the Doom beta can be found here.

Last year, around April, Bethesda said (via: Kotaku) that an earlier version of Doom 4 was scrapped and that the project was rebooted.

Bethesda marketing man Pete Hines said the following at the time, “An earlier version of Doom 4 did not exhibit the quality and excitement that id and Bethesda intend to deliver and that Doom fans worldwide expect.”

“As a result, id refocused its efforts on a new version of Doom 4 that promises to meet the very high expectations everyone has for this game and this franchise. When we’re ready to talk about the Doom 4 id is making, we will let folks know.”

Wolfenstein: The New Order will release on May 20th for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
