Nintendo has announced, during its Nintendo Direct today, that last year’s mash up of classic Nintendo Games, NES Remix, is getting a sequel. NES Remix 2 will feature games from the system’s later years. According to the presentation, these are the following games.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Adventure of Link
- Dr. Mario
- Kid Icarus
- NES Open Tournament Golf
- Kirby Adventure
- Wario’s Woods
- Ice Hockey
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Super Mario Bros. 2 (American version)
- Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japanese version)
It will also include a full version of a mini-game featured in the original NES Remix, called Super Luigi Bros. You take control of Luigi as you travel backwards through the original Super Mario Bros. game.
Nintendo also announced the release date for Mario Kart 8. It’ll arrive on May 30 and will include all of the Kooplings as playable racers. There’s 7 of them, and all have unique strengths and weaknesses. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 as bosses leading up to the final showdown with Bowser. They made their second appearance in Super Mario World straight after.
No official release date has been revealed for NES Remix 2.
