Arma 3 To Receive Zeus DLC, New Game Mode

The popular military sim Arma 3, developed by Bohemia Interactive, is set to receive its first DLC offering. Entitled Zeus, the content includes a brand new game mode, and is set to release by early summer.

The Zeus DLC is bringing with it the titular Zeus mode. Taking heavy inspiration from tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons, Zeus puts one player in control as the Game Master. This player will be in charge of creating and editing dynamic content midmatch for the other players to compete against.  Using an intuitive real-time editor, Zeus can alter the flow of a mission by spawning enemies, changing mission objectives, or even pen their own story.

“The best thing about Arma 3 Zeus is how naturally it fits within the game. Dynamic combat, massive islands, and editing features – it was all there. But now we’ve added an interface which gives players full control over the multiplayer experience”, said Zeus’ Design Lead Karel Moricky. “The Zeus system is pretty modular too, so community creators can easily use it in their missions. Or take it apart and turn into something completely different. There are no rules, only those you make yourself.”
