Titanfall On Xbox One Does Not Run In 1080p
To continue the speculative debate on which system, the PS4 or Xbox One, provides higher resolutions and FPS counts, it has now been revealed that the upcoming PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One shooter Titanfall won’t be running on a 1080p resolution.
Respawn Entertainment community manager Abbie Heppe stated on the Titanfall blog that the game currently runs in 729p. But it’ll most likely run closer at a native 900p resolution when it launches next month.
The blog points out, however, that the game’s 729p shouldn’t be a worrying factor. Many titles run at non-standard resolutions but then are upscaled to more commonly used benchmarks like 720p or 1080p.
The game’s framerate also remains a mystery. But if Respawn’s employees’ history is anything to go by, most of them hail from Infinity Ward, than we should expect the game to run at 60FPS. The full FPS count was an integral factor for Infinity Ward when it developed past Call of Duty titles.
Bluepoint Games is working on the 360 version of the game, and that particular version has been delayed. The PC and Xbox One versions will debut on March 11, with the 360 version to follow suit two weeks later.
