Xbox One March Dashboard Update New Details, February Update Postponed

The upcoming major update for the Xbox One system schedule for March has been graced with new details from Microsoft in an Xbox Wire blog post.

The March update will bring more multiplayer and social features present on the Xbox 360 to the newer console. Party chat audio will be on by default when entering a party, and party members playing different games will be able to talk to one another in party chat, instead of having to use Skype. The Xbox One friends list will be moved to the main screen of the Friends app instead of on the social feed.

Other features to be added include an option to invite friends to your game, and a list of recent players you’ve encountered will be available.

Finally, Microsoft’s Larry Hryb, otherwise known as Major Nelson, confirmed that the February system firmware update scheduled for today has been pushed back to later this week. The system refresh will add basic features to the console, like storage management, and the ability to check controller battery levels. The update also adds USB keyboard support to the console.

The March update is scheduled for early March, in time for the March 11 release of one of Microsoft’s flagship titles Titanfall.

If you aren’t looking forward to Titanfall, there are several other titles you can check out that are coming soon, only for Xbox One.
