Diablo III Reaches 15 Million Copies Sold

Activision Blizzard has announced via a post-earnings financial report that the loot-based MMORPG Diablo III has sold 15 million copies across all platforms.

The third installment in Blizzard’s popular series, Diablo III originally released on PC in May of 2012 and was later ported to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September 2013. A PlayStation 4 version has been confirmed and is set to release sometime in 2014, along with the all-new Reaper of Souls expansion pack due for PC and Mac on March 25. We still have yet to hear whether or not the game will see a release on the Xbox One.

Since May 2012, Diablo III has made headlines for myriad reasons, including server issues on opening day, the closing of the auction house, and for arriving on consoles for the first time in the franchise’s history. For more on Diablo III, you can read our console review here.
