Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Coming To Western Market Early 2015
At the Monster Hunter Fiesta ’13 Finals Tournament in Tokyo today, Capcom announced an upcoming standalone expansion for Monster Hunter 4, called 4G, for Japan. Later, they announced the North American and European market version, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
This new game will function with original Monster Hunter 4 game save files, and is in development for the 3DS. 4G is expected to launch in Japan in the fall, with the western version launching in early 2015.
“Today we announced that Monster Hunter 4G is in development for Nintendo 3DS in Japan, but we don’t want to leave out our fellow hunters in the west.” – Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer
The producer added that the game is the biggest leap forward in the Monster Hunter franchise.
Monster Hunter first launched in 2004 on the PlayStation 2, and has since sold more than 27 million units in its 26 iterations. It is Capcom’s fourth most sold game franchise, following Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Mega Man.
