Pokémon X & Y Servers Going Down For Extended Maintenance Jan 27

Nintendo has posted on their website that the online features for Pokémon X and Y will be undergoing maintenance on Monday, Jan 27 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. PST (Tuesday Jan 28, 00:00-06:00 UK time) .  This takes place in a six hour window after regularly scheduled Nintendo service maintenance, and will affect all internet activities on the game, notably online play and rankings, for everyone with access.

Rumors are starting to fly on some websites around the internet that the extended maintenance on the Pokémon servers is leading the way for the opening of the Pokémon Bank in the western market.  Other possibilities presented include the introduction of the Poké Transporter or the countering to the ability to cheat in online play.

ION: Pokémon soundtracks have been releasing on iTunes, allowing you to enjoy some nostalgic music without booting up your GameBoy.  The Pokémon Trading Card Game is getting its XY expansion.
