Titanfall Will Not Have Microtransactions; Season Pass Not Ruled Out

Respawn Entertainment put a few concerns to rest regarding their highly anticipated game, Titanfall. In a post on the company’s Twitter account they have the following response to a question of whether Titanfall would feature any microtransactions or a season pass:

Many were concerned about the degree of influence that EA would have upon Respawn and Titanfall, especially with EA having stated that all future EA games would feature microtransactions. This revelation further shows the degree of freedom that Respawn has from Electronic Arts and is sure to make many happy who were concerned about possible pay to win scenarios appearing.

As for a possible season pass, it would not be surprising for there to be one, considering the frequency that developers have utilized them in games with competitive multiplayer. However, until Respawn announces or denies that there will be one, it is purely up to speculation.

Titanfall is scheduled to release on March 11th of this year on PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The 360 version of the game is being developed by an as-of-yet unannounced studio that was selected by Respawn Entertainment.
