Xbox One And PS4 Will Both “Sell A Ton”, Says Microsoft
Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb believes both the PS4 and Xbox One will “sell a ton,” and that people shouldn’t waste their time bickering with one another about console superiority.
“Both new platforms are off to a great start. We all should be celebrating a healthy, vibrant industry,” Hryb said on Reddit (via OXM). “Sony has done a good job and they should be commended. The hate that infects gaming in the online space needs to go away. Sony will sell a ton. We will sell a ton. The industry is doing well…and consumers have choice.”
Both companies have shared complements with one another, and have congratulated each other with their respective console launches. Microsoft Game Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer even went as far as to say that Sony has done a “good job” with the PS4.
Xbox One has sold 3 million units worldwide in 2013, while Sony’s PS4 has managed to sell over 4.2 million units in the same amount of time. Both consoles have broken console launch sales records, and are well on their way to outperform their respective predecessors (PS3 and Xbox 360).
