Outlast Developer Reveals It Will Be Free With PlayStation Plus

While PS4 PlayStation Plus users are still likely trying to survive in Don’t Starve, Developer Red Barrels dropped some not-so-subtle hints that we can expect their horror game Outlast as a free perk in February on PS4.

You can look at their official Facebook page for the bombshell.  After taking a few questions from fans, they announced that Outlast will be free in February for PlayStation Plus members.  The game releases Feb. 5th, so it is likely it will be free for PS+ at launch.  To see our thoughts on this unique survival-horror title, check out our review.

I’m not sure how happy Sony will be about Red Barrels outing their next free title, but I’ll happily take it.  So far, I’m enjoying Contrast, Resogun and Don’t Starve, all of which I have gotten for free from PS+.  Outlast is a title I’ve had my eye on for a while, so having it to look forward to makes me feel even better about my PS4 purchase.  It is great to see Sony supporting indie titles as much as they said they would, and right now, the future looks awfully bright.

If you haven’t upgraded to a PS4 yet, don’t forget that Sony is holding a legendary sale that will be running for the next two weeks, so now is a great time to stock up on some games!
