Zelda Confirmed For New Smash Bros.

Longtime players likely won’t be too surprised, but the object of Link’s affection has been confirmed for both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the upcoming Smash Bros. game.

While aesthetically similar to what we have come to expect from Zelda, this version still leaves a few unanswered questions.  One, we haven’t seen or heard any mention of Sheik, her alter-ego from Ocarina of Time.  Sheik has been playable before, so it would come as something as a surprise if she doesn’t show up here.  Furthermore,  she can be seen summoning a suit of armor similar to her form in Spirit Tracks. Whether that is just an ability or another alter-ego remains to be seen, but at least we know for sure that she will be in the game.

Even though more and more details are leaking out, there is still so much we don’t know about the new Smash Bros. games, including potential release dates.  Still, I know I’m not the only one excited for it, as there are a legion of Wii U owners awaiting a killer app.  This could be the one.

Are you as excited as we are for the next Smash Bros.  How do you feel about Zelda as a character?  Drop us a line with your thoughts.
