Firefly Online Coming To PC and Mac In Summer 2014
Firefly Online has been the subject of rumours and stories for a while now: will it ever come out, and what will it be like? Registered Companion have recently announced on the official Firefly Online website that Firefly Online will be making it’s way to Mac OS and Windows OS platforms as well as iOS and Android devices next year!
To make things even better, the Android and iOS versions should be available Summer 2014 for digital download through the official Firefly Online website and selected partners. Pricings and pre-order dates will be announced shortly, so we’ll keep an eye on that. The actual release date for the PC ad Mac versions haven’t been announced yet, but hopefully it won’t be too long after the mobile versions. The PC and Mac versions will be the exact same version of the game, feature-for-feature as the mobile copies so you’ll have access to everything on offer and no Captain will have to strip down their shop depending what version they’re playing!
In case you didn’t know, Firefly Online is a social RPG based on the hit TV-series Firefly by Joss Whedon, that had a tragic and abrupt life. You assume the role of a captain and hire a crew to seek out adventures, while trading and competing with other players in the Verse. The ships are customizable, and you “aim to misbehave” in a selection of space and planet-side adventures. Firefly Online is also cross-platform, so you can pick up and play from one version to the other. Have a look at the Game-Play page on the Firefly Online website for more information on how exactly you play the game and what you can expect on your adventure in the Verse. Excited for this yet? I know I certainly am!
