Telltale Games Confirms Game Of Thrones Game Is Coming In 2014

Prepare yourselves as Telltale games announces yet another episodic game they’re currently working on: Game of Thrones, a Telltale game series. As with their other episodic title, Tales from the Borderlands, there haven’t been many details announced yet as the title is in the very early stages of development, but here’s what we know so far from the VGX Awards tease:

  • The series will feature Telltale’s trademark use of narrative choices, which is a great move considering the political nature of Game of Thrones and the way people interact. If, like The Walking Dead, the smallest of choices can have the greatest impact then it should be a great story to play though.
  • The game is being made in conjunction with HBO, but we’re not sure whether this means it will follow the liberties taken by the show or not. The teaser (which you can see below) does use the TV series’ music though, so this suggests that it will tie in with the TV series in some way.
  • No characters have been confirmed yet, whether main or new, so there is the entire possibility that this game could feature an entirely new cast and very few familiar faces (although they will probably make an appearance to help hold the game and the world together).

It doesn’t sound like a lot at the moment, but the fact that Game of Thrones is now Telltale’s fourth confirmed project means it’s something to watch out for. Keep checking back for any updates.
