Chamber of Game: Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Baldur’s Gate II is widely considered one of the greatest role playing games ever made, and has certainly influenced every RPG developer and gamer since it’s release in 2000 by Bioware and Black Isle Studios. Over ten years later we are finally blessed with an official remake that preserves the original’s classic isometric tactical gameplay and epic story with larger resolutions, widescreen support, and remastered artwork. Like the Enhanced Edition to the original Baldur’s Gate released earlier this year, the sequel comes packaged with its official expansion (Throne of Bhaal), more arena style combat challenges for high level adventurers in The Black Pits 2, and four completely new characters with their own personalities and quest lines (Characters sold separately as DLC for iPad and Android).
Leviathyn’s Andrew Whipple III and Eric Watson wax poetic about the good ol’ days of RPGs and walk you through character creation and a good chunk of the opening area to see if this update is truly enhanced.
Platform: PC, Mac, iPad, Android
Release Date: November 15, 2013
