PvZ: Garden Warfare Screen

Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare Release Date Announced

Finally, the day we’ve been waiting for since its announcement at E3 this year! Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare has finally been given a release date. PopCap Games, a division of Electronic Arts, announced that the comedy multiplayer-shooter will arrive on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on February 18th 2014 in North America, February 20th 2014 for Europe and February 21st 2014 for the UK!

Plants vs Zombies is a third-person, action-packed multiplayer shooter that lets you play as your favourite Plants from the PvZ franchise. It’s powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, and features “stunning third-dimensional worlds”. It has more than 10 maps and three distinct modes, including two 12v12 competitive multiplayer modes called Garden & Graveyards and Team Vanquish. It also features a four-player co-op mode called Garden Ops.

In Garden & Graveyards, the plants must defend their garden bases from zombies attempting to turn it into a graveyard. Team Vanquish sees teams squaring off as they try to compost the other team, and Garden Ops (the mode demonstrated in the E3 conference) sees you battling against wave after wave of undead and bosses with your friends. In case you missed the E3 announcement (which got so many PvZ fans excited) you can check it out below, and don’t forget to have a look at our E3 preview.

If you’re getting Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare for the Xbox One, you’ll be getting two additional modes as well, including local co-operative split screen and Boss Mode. In split-screen, you can team up with friends and fight against hordes of relentless undead, where Boss Mode sees you using your Kinect of Smartglass device in any other gameplay mode to support the team. This includes delivering intel, dropping health and exploding artillery strikes!

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is available for pre-order right now at major retailers worldwide, and also on Origin for £34.99 for Xbox One and £24.99 for Xbox 360. A PC version will be available at a later date, so don’t worry PC gamers! While you’re waiting (and hopefully getting as excited as I am) make sure you check out the Garden Warfare official site for any new announcements and updates.

Looks like I know what I’ll be spending my Christmas money on!
