Twitch Integration On PS4 Looks Promising
Today, we got our first look at how Twitch will integrate with the PS4. Sharing gameplay videos and commentary has been one of the more anticipated features of the new consoles, and the PS4 makes it look more enticing than ever.
The biggest step in the right direction is the integration of the chat section. Previously, it was impossible to monitor the video feed and chat feed in the same screen, but the PS4 smartly allows you to do both at the same time. It will look very similar to the standard Twitch feed, with the chat box on the right, and showing key statistics like viewer and subscriber numbers.
For those of you interested in purchasing or using a camera (as one isn’t included with the PS4), Twitch also allows you to add the video feed to your stream, making it easy to add your own audio, reaction shots or whatever you want. The PlayStation 4 camera can be purchased separately for around $60.
Personally, I’m excited about the new possibilities. I think it safe to say we will see an explosion of the number of game videos and streams that will appear online, so who knows? Maybe you will be the next person to capture something awesome.
