‘GTA V’ – PC Petition

Petition for PC Release of ‘GTA V’ Hits Over 360,000 Signatures

With GTA V hitting the shelves tomorrow for the Xbox 360 and PS3, there appears to be a distinct lack of mention for any sort of release for the PC. I have just assumed up until this point that a PC version was going to come out anyway, but that’s just me being childishly naive.

Then news of this petition came in sight, and I’m happy to hear that it seems to be doing well for itself!

Starting back in November last year, the petition has racked up a whopping 362,005 digital count of signatures at the time of writing to request for GTA V to release on PC. Are these signatures going to help persuade Rockstar to spontaneously announce a PC release? Considering the release date is tomorrow I have my doubts, but I remain hopeful for a PC port to be released eventually.

To my knowledge a PC port of a big, triple-A title usually releases soon after the title’s initial launch, give or take a few months. Sure, PC gamers such as myself may not see a PC release for GTA V graciously descend from the heavens once retailers burst out from their store’s “backstage” on launch day and proclaim, “Oh, don’t worry – we had it all along!”, but PC gamers with patience may look forward to the possibility of a PC port coming in later months, maybe even sometime early next year (considering how late in the year it is already).

If you wish to be a part of the movement you may sign the petition for yourself! Once there all you’ll need to do is fill out the following letter:

To:
Rockstar Games
Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people’s lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.

I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it’ll make many people very happy!
Sincerely,
[Your name]
