Ubisoft Announces Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Today, Ubisoft announced the 2014 release of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, a downloadable game set to release on both the current and next gen consoles in 2014. Inspired by actual letters from World War I, the game tells the stories of five people and their canine companions enduring the horrors of fighting in the trenches during the war. Taking place between 1914 and 1918, the game will focus on several different characters from all sides, including Emile the French farmer-turned-prisoner, Ana the field medic living in the trenches, and Karl, a German soldier searching for his love. Check out the trailer below:
According to IGN, the game is built on the Ubi Art Framework engine and was created by a small team at Ubisoft Montpelier. The game is a 2D sidescroller with puzzles that vary for each of the individual characters and tells a powerful story with its use of drama and humor and a comic art style.
Valiant Hearts was announced alongside Child of Light, Assassin’s Creed: Pirates, and a sequel to Rayman Jungle Run. Keep it locked here for more information on the game as we near its release next year.
