Activision Announces Collaboration with Eminem for Call of Duty: Ghosts
Activision announced today that they were working alongside rapper Eminem to offer players of the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts the “ultimate fan offer.”
Being that both Call of Duty and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 release on November 5th, those who pre-order Ghosts through GameStop will also receive a code to download a special edition of the LP along with an exclusive bonus track for $8.99.
This collaboration between the two was first announced in August, when the song “Survival” was first revealed in conjunction with the first look at Ghosts’ multiplayer mode. Included as part of the LP, “Survival” will also be featured in a music video trailer set to be released later this month.
“The energy and intensity of ‘Survival’ really matches Call of Duty: Ghosts,” said the rapper of the partnership, commenting on his excitement to be involved with the game.
Activision CMO Tim Ellis also sounded off on the deal and how well it correlated with the work of Eminem. “Call of Duty is the ultimate adrenaline rush. It’s the intensity and heart-pounding excitement you feel as the action unfolds,” he said. “And Eminem embodies this same spirit and captures this in his music.”
This offer will be redeemable through November 19th and will be exclusive to GameStop and “select locations worldwide.” Alongside the LP, those who pre-order from GameStop will also receive other bonuses, including a multiplayer skin of Simon “Ghost” Riley from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to release on November 5th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC, with next-gen versions coming later this year.
