Tywin Lannister Actor To Voice Part In The Witcher 3

The world that The Witcher universe takes place in is already a cold, brutal and unforgiving place to live.  Kings die left and right, shady people are always trying to gain influence in royal courts, giant armies build siege towers and sharpen their blades in camps and there always seems to be a bard around to capture it all.  Charles Dance, who playes Tywin Lannister in HBO’s adaptation of Game of Thrones, should fit right in.

Developer CD Projeckt RED announced today that Dance will be taking on the role of Nilfgaardian Emperor Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher 3.  Dance has done voice work in the past, but this is his first role in a video game.

“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality”, said lead writer Martin Blacha.

The Witcher 3 is releasing on PC and next-gen consoles sometime next year.
