Senran Kagura Burst is Sneaking Its Way to North America This Fall
According to Anime News Network, earlier this week XSEED Games announced that they are bringing the titillating beat-em-up series Senran Kagura to North American 3DSes this fall under the title Senran Kagura Burst. Senran Kagura Burst is actually a compilation package of the first two games in the series previously released only in Japan, 2011’s Senran Kagura: Skirting Shadows and 2012’s Senran Kagura Burst: Crimson Girls.
The game will only be available on the eShop on the 3DS, following in the footsteps of Capcom who is doing a similar release plan for the anticipated Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Duel Destinies.
The series is developed by Tamsoft and published in Japan by XSEED’s newly acquired parent company Marvelous AQL. XSEED themselves are known for publishing some rather obscure Japanese games in the West, such as the cult hit Corpse Party series of horror games for the PSP.
The Senran Kagura series follows two groups of high school age female ninjas who are from rival ninja schools and feature a rather heavy focus on changing the costumes of the characters, as the different costumes affect their abilities, with the skimpier outfits having greater effects. The series has become quite popular in Japan, spawning both an anime and manga series, as well as a third game in the series appearing on the PlayStation Vita.
Be sure to check back in the future as we learn more details about Senran Kagura Burst’s release, such as the price and date. For now, check out the game’s official English debut trailer below.
