Batman & Superman Film is OFFICIAL
Yes, you read the title of the article right. The long rumored and hinted-at film which will feature two of the biggest superhero icons ever will join up in one film.
There is currently no official title for the film but it was confirmed that it will feature the two comic book superhero giants fighting each other. “Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest superheroes in the world,” said Zack Snyder, the director of Man Of Steel, the wildly popular Superman film released recently, to which Batman and Superman will serve as a sequel. Snyder has been brought aboard once again to direct the film as he did with the first film and Christopher Nolan, the director of the Dark Knight trilogy, will serve as an executive producer to the sequel.
Man of Steel has grossed $621m worldwide to date and so it is not too difficult to see why Warner Bros. may want to join the re-imagining of the classic hero with the character whose last film grossed more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
Henry Cavill will return as the Superman half of the film with the rest of the Man Of Steel cast presumably intact. However despite many rumors to the contrary, Christian Bale will not reprise his role as Batman and there will be a different universe entirely to the Nolan Batman films. This means no Joseph Gordon-Levitt Robin/Batman amalgamation any time soon.
Warner Bros. have slated the film for 2015, which puts it in direct competition with Avengers 2: Age of Ultron and shoots down the rumors of a Justice League of America film in 2015.
Is this the film that could challenge Avengers to the 2015 crown? Or will Star Wars VII beat them both anyway? Let us know in the comments.
