Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade MMO Announced
Another Warhammer 40k MMO has been announced everyone. I don’t blame you if it’s a tad hard to get excited seeing as the last one turned to scrap. Still, Eternal Crusade is news today and with the unveiling of the official website we have our first details.
Being developed by Behavior Interactive, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will pit four factions against each other in a war to control an entire planet. The four races that will be participating in the bloodshed are the Space Marines (no surprise there), Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar. These are, perhaps, the safest races to use in a 40k game seeing as they are the most recognizable from the tabletop game. Still, there’s hope that if Eternal Crusade actually releases in 2015, as the site suggests, then maybe we’ll see some more armies added in the future.
It would be nice to see a company actually get Necron gameplay right.
Not much else is known about Eternal Crusade right now other than Behavior setting a release of “end of 2015” for the MMO. You can head to the official site and enroll for something, hopefully a testing period but more likely a newsletter. There’s a phase roadmap that pops up on the site that says phase 1 was announcement with phase 2 coming soon. The roadmap goes up to phase 9, which is most likely launch.
I should be more excited for this. I love the 40k universe and I severely miss playing it with my buds. I never did finish my Dark Eldar army after their refresh. Still, the sour taste THQ left in my mouth with Dark Millennium is still there. I’m hoping that Behavior can set that heresy right, as the Emperor wills it.
Below are fluff pictures of the four races you hear talk on the official site. Perhaps that will give some of you non-players an idea of the kind of universe you may be heading into come “end of 2015”.
Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is set to be released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
