The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Coming In October

Zelda fans get ready to eat your hats – Nintendo announced at the E3 conference that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD edition will be making its way on to Wii U this October in the West and September in Japan!

This version sees much better graphics and lighting than the DS version, with 1080p graphics and better shades to create better textures. All in all, it looks amazing! Nintendo has also added lots of new features, including a ‘speed up’ button to allow your boat to travel faster.

As well as this, an exciting feature that has been updated is the Tingle Tuner. Originally this was incompatible with the Wii U, as this allowed the Game boy Advance and the Nintendo Game Cube to connect in the original Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, but this update now means that Wii U consoles will be able to connect over the Miiverse. Players will be able to write messages, cast them into sea and they will randomly appear on the shores of other players’ games. You can even attach images!

Make sure to have a look at the E3 video below, it’s pretty awesome.

More details have yet to be announced, but this is a sure title to add to your Christmas shopping list. Is a remake enough to tide people over until an original Wii U Zelda title? (If one is indeed on the cards?)
