Thief Gets An E3 Gameplay Demo

E3 is never short of trailers for new games, and this time we have the E3 trailer for Thief, which appeared on GameTrailers today.

Developed by Square Enix and Eidos Montreal, Thief is a reboot of the series of stealth games. Currently it’s expected to release in 2014 for Windows PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

In the game you control Garrett, a master thief who intends to steal from the rich, and the game is heavily choice driven. Unlike some games, Thief tries to cater to both experts and ‘noobs’ alike, meaning everyone can enjoy the stealth experience. In case you missed the Thief E3 trailer (as opposed to the gameplay demo) you can view this in the video below, and further down this article you can find the gameplay video itself. In the trailer you’ll see a mix of live-action shots and a hint of gameplay footage, and Garrett even explains his actions to you.

While the game will be coming out on Xbox One and PS4, there will be one main difference. The Playstation 4 version will be capped at 30 frames per second, as Stephane Roy (Eidos Montreal Producer) said he would “prefer to have better physics than a smoother 60 frames per second frame rate”.

Originally the game was announced as Thief 4, but this was Eidos Montreal revealed it would be called Thief in 2013. The previous installment in the series was around 9 years ago, so fans may be getting a little anxious for a new game.

Currently Thief has no official release date other than 2014, so keep checking back and we’ll update once an announcement is made.
