Call of Duty In a Song

Call of Duty has been around for a very long time. The first one – COD Classic as it’s now known – launched in 2003 and ran on Quake tech. Since then, the franchise has completely exploded. The amount of casual and serious gamers, all joining together in FPS frenzy, is astounding.

Today, we’re putting it into song form. Take this as a humorous piece with solid elements of truth behind it. Though it continues to sell, as the new COD Ghosts sure will, I still think think that the series is peaking.

The tweaked song is Flo Rida – Right Round, play it in the background if you want. This is Call of Duty in a song…

You spin me each year baby each year, when COD goes down the path of annualization when it goes down down.

Heeyyy!

Walk out of my Gamestop, with no swagga

Hop in with you I look at the game, let’s just go

Gamers believe, that COD is precious

I look at their faces, this franchise is out of control

Just like their wallets, they won’t stop spendin.

No new ideas, no story, people selling their clothes

No way people are pre-ordering this, put it on hold!

Unlike my thoughts to COD which are always cold

I know it can’t keep selling

My pockets protest that cash will shower

Call up Activision and tell em the night is for story-driven games

‘We don’t care about none of that. Out games be balling platinum sales every hour’

Look brother, I owe you the sales numbers at least

But boy, give us some honest IP’s!

GO!

From the top of the gaming industry, we’ll watch COD go down

They got us throwing our money onto the ground

Ain’t nothing more serialized that can be found

COD’s going down down

dutycalls

Devs must know we’re the man

Cos’ our money makes us their number one fan

Don’t open your idea box, the fans don’t care, Benjamin Franklin be frowning in his grave

A couple of million grands, we get some new hands, some similar guns make these kids dance

Get us something new in our hands

We building a franchise that’s really quite bland

Call of Duty ain’t amazing, those mechanics not blazin’, colder than the Arctic, come guys move a little faster

Time to get paid, the publishers getting maximum wage, for making new box art

I’m in a daze, that market strategy be like damn I told ya

You want a game like something not with a gun and holster?

Tell me that we ain’t the most successful, and I’ll be your chauffeur!

Cause…
