Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Set For Release on September 10th in North America
In North America on September 10th, 2013, fans of Square- Enix and Disney’s popular action- rpg mash-up franchise, Kingdom Hearts, will finally be able to purchase Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix for the PlayStation 3. The collection was released in Japan on March 14th of this year and features Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, remastered in high definition and with trophy support. There will also be a collection of 2 hours of remastered cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and an additional 50 minutes of new scenes.
The first game included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix, is Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, which has been remastered to high definition. This game was released in Japan on December 26th, 2002, and was a re-release of the original Kingdom Hearts, featuring some new aspects not in the original. For example, the optional boss battles that were included in the North American Kingdom Hearts, were brought to Japanese gamers for the first time. There were extra cut scenes that better clarified certain plot elements and foreshadowed Kingdom Hearts 2. Also added to Final Mix, were new abilities, weapons, items, and even some additional enemies and music. Players could now choose from two new difficulty levels. With the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, Final Mix will be available in North America for the first time.
The second game included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX will be Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, which was originally a PlayStation 2 remake of Chain of Memories, a title made for the GameBoy Advanced that was released on December 7th, 2004 in North America. Re:Chain of Memories was released on December 8th, 2008 in America for the PlayStation 2. It featured polygonal 3-D graphics and voice acting, looking no different than the original Kingdom Hearts for PlayStation 2. Re:Chain of Memories still featured the card based battle system of the GameBoy Advanced version, but added “the reaction command” seen in Kingdom Hearts 2. Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories will also be re-mastered in high definition for the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX release.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, which was released in North America on September 29th 2009 for the Nintendo DS, will not be a playable game in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. Instead it will simply be an almost three hour cinematic retelling of the games story, all in beautiful, high definition graphics. this will be a great addition for those who missed out on this title. Like most Square- Enix games, as Kingdom Hearts has always been a series that heavily relies on storyline, The cinematic version of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will be a welcome addition to the two other groundbreaking titles included in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. Look out for this title on September 10th, 2013 in North America, September 12th, 2013 in Australia, and September 13th, 2013 in Europe. In the mean time, check out the trailer below.
