Deoxys’ Normal Forme

Starting on May 8th, fans of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 can connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to obtain the DNA Pokemon, Deoxys, at level 100. This special event Pokemon is said to have been taught extremely valuable moves for the players to use. The Pokemon will only hang around until May 31st, however, so don’t wait too long or you’ll miss out! For those Pokemon lovers out there who do not know about Deoxys, allow me to explain.

Deoxys is a legendary Pokemon introduced in the third generation of Pokemon games (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen). It is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon with four different forms it can change in to. While in its Normal Forme, its stats are more balanced, not giving any advantages to one or another. However, in its Attack Forme its attack and special attack rise, in its Defense Forme the defense and special defense see and increase, and its in final form its speed gets a substantial boost. Because of this odd mechanic of changing forms to increase different stats, one could find Deoxys to be a very valuable addition to their Pokemon team.

Deoxys also has a good variety of moves that it can learn, and they are mixed up well between physical attacks, special attacks, and status attacks. Also, with its high stat values, all of its attacks are sure to do a decent amount of damage even to the largest defenses.

This Pokemon has been fairly difficult to obtain until now, only legally available in Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon FireRed, and Pokemon LeafGreen. Now, it is available to anyone with an internet connection and access to Nintendo Wi-Fi. Other events have been held for Deoxys, although most were exclusive to countries such as Japan or Korea. So, if you are like me and have yet to (legitimately) add a Deoxys to your Pokedex, charge your DS, make sure your Wi-Fi is working come May 8th, and download your new ally! Then, rough up your friend’s Pokemon in a friendly battle to see whose level 100 Deoxys is better! Now, if only we could get another event for a Mew…
