Season 2 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Coming Fall of 2013
Just a week after news hit that more The Walking Dead content was going to come before Season 2, Telltale has confirmed that the actual second season of its highly regarded adventure game will be releasing in the fall of 2013.
At the BAFTA Awards, Telltale CEO Dan Connors accidentally said that they were aiming to release Season 2 in the fall of 2014, but a Telltale representative clarified today, saying that Season 2 was hitting fall of this year. With that in mind, would Telltale be looking to also release Season 2 on the PS4? Connors had this to say about the PS4 version:
I would think so, though, but it’s all going to depend on timing I guess. But we don’t have enough information from [Sony] to announce it or anything.
A big concern, however, was the fact that the PS4 isn’t going to carry over your game saves and digital library over from the PS3. This raises a problem for a game like the Walking Dead, in which player choice is paramount to the experience. Telltale company founder Kevin Bruner may have assuaged fears by saying:
We’re in close contact with Sony and they understand what is the secret recipe of The Walking Dead so expect that we’ll be talking about it soon.
I’m extremely curious to see how Season 2 pans out for Telltale. I personally feel like they caught lightning in a bottle with the first season of The Walking Dead, and I’m wondering on what they can do to continually evolve the formula of their already great storytelling.
