Grab Your Guildmates: BlizzCon is Coming
Blizzard announced today that BlizzCon is returning to the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9. The seventh Blizzard Entertainment-themed gaming convention will feature a plethora of goodies for Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo fans alike to experience, including:
- Hands-on interaction with the latest Blizzard titles
- Global eSports finals, including appearances by the best pro gamers in the world
- Discussion panels and Q&As with Blizzard developers and artists
- Tournaments, competitive and casual
- Community contests featuring amazing prizes
- Blizzard Entertainment swag and merchandise based on their most popular franchises
“BlizzCon gives us a chance to connect with our players and share our latest projects in a very personal way,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Members from all of our gaming communities have helped make this event bigger and better every time, and we look forward to meeting up and celebrating with them in November.”
The last BlizzCon occurred in October of 2011, and the event sold out nearly instantaneously. Highlights included the unveiling of World of Warcraft’s fourth expansion pack, Mists of Pandaria. The convention concluded with a concert performed by the famous rock group the Foo Fighters.
Potential convention-goers can find more information on BlizzCon’s website, www.blizzcon.com. More information, such as ticket pricing and availability, will be posted there as the event draws closer. Advance hotel reservations can be made now for those planning to attend in person on the BlizzCon hotel page.
BlizzCon is probably the largest developer-based gaming convention in the world. They have quite a presence in the PC world, and this convention shows it. Besides giving loyal fans the opportunity to spend a weekend frolicking through a magical world of swag and cosplay, BlizzCon shows the rest of the gaming industry their true strength as a developer powerhouse. This event is just as much for the massive developer as it is for its many fans.
What about you? Will you be going to BlizzCon or any other conventions this year?
