Namco Bandai Releases Trailer For Upcoming Star Trek Game
Namco Bandai has released the first trailer for its upcoming Star Trek title.
The trailer itself showcases bits of gameplay, as well as a few in-game visuals, but still leaves everyone wondering what the game is even about outside of the fact that it will feature Kirk and Spock.
Namco Bandai has described the game on their website as “a completely original co-op experience…[that] immerses players in a rich, original story and action-packed combat.”
Now I’m not entirely sure if Namco Bandai understands what “original” means, because judging by the trailer this is nothing more than a Mass Effect clone set in the Star Trek universe. The game appears to feature similar cover-based combat, and the art style seems to have been taken directly from the Mass Effect franchise.
Star Trek is being developed by The Darkness II developer Digital Extremes, and will launch April 23 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
