Tomb Raider’s Multiplayer Detailed
It was revealed about a week ago that Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider reboot would, in fact, include multiplayer modes on top of the single player story campaign. Thanks to a savvy fan and the power of the internet, we’ve learned exactly what some of the multiplayer modes in Tomb Raider will entail.
There are three distinct modes in the game; the standard Team Deathmatch, a “Cry for Help” mode meant to be mostly about exploration and discovery rather than combat, and “Rescue” mode, where players take on the role of Survivors or the Scavengers meant to keep the Survivors from delivering items to certain points on a map all while trying to score high kill counts. The mode will also include a “bleed out time” where players slowly die and can wait to be revived by fellow teammates.
There will be a roster of characters to play as, with an XP system allowing for upgrades and additional character unlocks. It’s been said that Deus Ex: Human Revolution developer Eidos Montreal has created the multiplayer modes, allowing Crystal Dynamics to solely handle the story campaign. Look for the Official Xbox Magazine reveal on Tomb Raider’s multiplayer for more details.
Tomb Raider is available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on March 5.
